Spring Break Closing: April 9Th- 15Th

RECITAL INFO

In Motion’s “In The Spotlight” recital is quickly approaching! Please make sure to be in all your classes so teachers can finish your recital number on time. If you are absent from class, please make sure to get with another student or teacher to find out what you may have missed.

Most recital costumes will be here at the end of the month.

If you are in a class which will be “pulling from closets” an updated email pertaining to all these classes and costumes will be sent out after spring break.

OPENING RECITAL NUMBER

In Motion will be putting together an opening number for recital this year!

Starting in May–All Intro and up classes (ages 6-up) will be learning an opening number combination the last 10 minutes of their class.

(In Motions opening number attire -TBA.)

COMPETITION TEAM AUDITIONS

Due to the large amount of performance going on in the month of June. In Motion will be holding competition team auditions – Saturday, JUNE 23rd.

9-10am ages13-up

10-11am ages 9-12

11-11:30am ages 6-8

All current competition team members need to audition – If you can not make this specific audition date, please let the front desk know.

BALLET ANNOUNCEMENT

In Motion Studio of Dance would like to announce the resignation of our Ballet Director Rosine Bena. Rosine has been the Director of Ballet at In Motion for over 7 years and we will miss her dearly. Unfortunately, it has been a challenge for Rosine to devote 100% to teaching due to her hip replacement in October, and has just received word she will need another hip replacement in May. Due to these circumstances, Rosine has stepped down from her position at the studio.

We all wish Miss Rosine Bena the very best!

With that said, we would like to bring you up to date with NEW NEWS for the ballet program at In Motion Studio of Dance.

Ballet UPDATE

Miss Larissa and Miss Erin will be finishing off all Tuesday and Friday ballet classes for the remaining dance season. All of these classes will have a ballet number for the recital, which will be choreographed by Miss Larissa with the assistance of rehearsals with Miss Erin.

We are proud to announce that Seth Parker will be taking over as Director of Ballet for In Motion Studio of Dance on May 14th!

Seth Parker (who happens to be Miss Larissa’s husband) has been dancing as a soloist with Ballet San Jose for 7 years. Before assuming a position with Ballet San Jose, Seth danced with the Ohio Ballet. He has also been an instructor at USDAN Performing Arts Camp in Long Island, NY.

In Motion is very excited to have Seth on board, in addition to our team of excellent teachers. Seth will be having ballet placement auditions at the end of June and the beginning of August. (Dates and times to be announced.)

We are excited to make some changes which will take the ballet program to new heights!!

We know you will be happy too!

Spring recital
“IN THE SPOTLIGHT” is June 16th at the Pioneer Center for Performing arts.

Please make sure you are in class, so instructors have an easier time choreographing your recital number!

All dancers who are currently on PDT will need to re-audition.

February Tuition

Tuition is due.  Please have all tuition in no later than the 6th of Feb. To avoid $25 late fee.

Recital Costume and Contracts

If you have not filled out your recital contract please do so and return it to the front desk with payment by February .

We need to have confirmation you will be participating in the 2012 Spring recital on June 16th.

A picture of your dancers costume will be up in the studio next week.

All classes will begin their recital number this week- please remember it is important to be in class during this time.  Teachers need all dancers present in order to fully choreograph their number.  Please alert your teacher or the front desk if you will be absent from class so they may take that in consideration while choreographing.

In Motion Summer Camp Information

Dates for In Motion’s summer camps will be posted Feb.15th.

Be sure to sign up for one of our amazing summer dance camps this year!  Its a great way to spend the summer!

Lost and Found

In Motions lost and found is getting huge!  Next time you are in the studio please check the lost and found for any items you may have misplaced. All items in lost and found that are not picked up by March 1st will be donated to the good will.

In Motion will be open for Presidents Day.

Happy New Year Everyone!
In Motion hopes you all had a wonderful holiday break and we are looking forward to have you back in class!

January Tuition
January tuition is due the week of January 9Th (the first week we are back).
In Motion will also set back its grace period date to January 15Th, due to the late start. After the 15Th there will be a $25.00 late fee.
(Please note that all months tuition will balance out, due to shorter and longer months throughout the dance year.)

Recital Contracts
All recital contracts need to be in NO LATER THAN Jan. 15Th to make sure you reserve your spot for the recital and also to make sure you receive your costume.
Please pick up a contract if you haven’t already at the front desk.

Summer Camp Schedule will be out February 20Th.

2012 Class Schedule Changes
With the demands of Miss Erin’s UNR class schedule many of her teaching times are in conflict with her 2012 university class schedule. Many of Miss Erin’s classes will either be moved to a different time during the week or be taken over by another In Motion instructor. If you do have a class with Miss Erin, please check the schedule for any changes. In Motion apologizes for any inconveniences, but is understanding to the challenges some of our teachers face in getting their college degrees. In Motion will do its best to provide excellent teachers in place of Erin, and try our best to accommodate Erin’s schedule for 2012, and are proud that she will be graduating very soon!
